Does Aspects work offline?

Yes. Rendering and exporting happen entirely on your Mac and never need a connection. Cloud sync is the only part that does, and losing your connection does not sign you out or block an export — the app keeps working and syncs when it can.

What happens to my files if I cancel the subscription?

Local editing and exporting keep working — those come with the one-time app purchase, not the subscription. Your cloud library stays readable, but new uploads are blocked until you resubscribe. Nothing is deleted when a subscription lapses.

Almost always the source rather than the export. Cropping and mockups can only use the pixels that were there — a low-resolution image scaled up, or a Photoshop mockup whose smart object is small, will stay soft at any export quality. For website captures, raise the render viewport rather than the output size.

Can I capture a page that needs a login?

Yes. Aspects loads pages in a real WebKit view, so you can sign in, dismiss banners and navigate exactly as you would in Safari, and the state you leave the page in is the state it renders from. Staging URLs and localhost work for the same reason.

Why does the same scroll export give an identical file every time?

Because it is rendered rather than recorded. Each frame is computed from the scroll position at that frame, with no reference to the wall clock, so machine speed changes how long the export takes but not what it contains. Re-exporting after fixing a typo gives you the same video minus the typo.

Does the iPhone app let me edit?

No, it is read-only by design. It shows the exports your Mac has uploaded, in the folders you already use, so you can preview them, save them to Photos or pass them to the share sheet. Rendering stays on the Mac, where the processing power and the source files are.
